Hands

So WordPress totally #!*รท/;#up my blog post so I have to publish it again..

I usually get visions in pictures inside me usually of a feeling with a body expressing that feeling. And then I paint or draw that picture from my heart.
Now for the last couple weeks I’m getting a feeling and seeing hands expressing that feeling. Sort of disturbing because I’ve never been painting nor drawing hands really. As you see in the pictures below.

So I’m cheating right now, putting a photo behind my picture on a window like this, just for some of the important lines.

Then I try to fill in the rest.

Well, I need a lot of practice and a book about drawing hand is on its way, I ordered it last week. I’m looking forward to the point of being able to do them in oil.

Golden Freedom

I remade my freedom painting a bit, I don’t know if I like it more or less, but now it’s done.

This is also my painting for this week’s challenge: water on inspiration avenue

Blessings

I’ve started on a new oil painting today. Perfect day to paint on the balcony!

I’m going to let it rest until tomorrow now and see how to proceed. I have to do something with those legs and feet that’s for sure. That’s one of the reasons why I love to paint with oil, you can remake again and again!

Future

I think I will start selling my art, what joy, what pain.

An adventure for sure.

Time for some planning and information hunting. This is totally new for me.

Valentine’s drawings

Nangfaa and I decided to make this Valentine’s project. We print a black and white A4  sized  picture. We take it to the window and then we put a blank drawing paper over it. The light outside the window help us to see through it to our blank paper. Then we draw the contours.
When we done this we go to our drawing table and start filling in our drawing of each other.
After this we write stuff about each other around the picture. I wrote the different meanings of my daughter’s names.

Self portrait – there is only so much this woman can do

I guess it’s finished, cause I don’t have any time tomorrow, I am baking red velvet cupcakes with my daughter and going to church, but I’m not going to spray it just yet, I’ll might figure out some way to draw hair. So I’ll let it rest for a week. And maybe I’ll use it to make a banner for my signedbymali blog in gimpshop.

This week’s challenge is self portrait

My friend Betsy and I are doing our own little 30 week’s drawing challenge.  This week is self portrait and I’m supposed to be done by Sunday.  One of the reason of doing this is that I haven’t given my self the time to draw that I deserve in a very long time. And I’m sad to say that when my pen don’t do what it supposed to on the paper I realize that I’ve been waiting to long to pic up my drawings that I’m not as good as I used to be, no more excuses! Drawing is a big part of who I am and I will make an effort to evolve in it again.

What is it that you have neglected far to long already? God made you unique! Being a part of his plan is not to hide who you are but to use your gifts so that they grow! He didn’t make you You without a reason!

Now the hard part begin

I did some painting last night and then I googled a bit about oilcolors and found out that it isn’t that good to use when you have kids at home, because of the odours. So now what? I’ve tried acrylic once but wasn’t satisfied with the color drying that fast. Maybe I’ll give it another try. I’ve also heard about some oil color that is better then other. Paint that resolve in water. But then it’s the linseed oil, I’m not so comfortable with having that in the apartment either, with the fire risk on cloths. So I guess I have to give acrylic a chance again, do any of you know if there are a way to make the color dry slower?

I also got a longing to learn scrapbooking art, so the painting from yesterday will be a scrapbooking project.
If it’s going to be good, yea I can’t really tell.

My mini-artist

Nangfaa is learning how to use oil colors today. How to blend it together, how it feels to paint with and how to clean the brushes.
